Since 2019, Covid-19 pandemic changed the world in terms of people’s mindset, lifestyle, values and very specially means of communication and interaction. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Mexican Society of Cosmetics Chemists and the organizing committees for their excellent job to switch the in personal event into a Virtual-only event with new creative ways of interaction, beside of the scientific activities, the opening ceremony with two distinguish Mexican speaker, workshops, commercial exhibition and award ceremony in the virtual program. Hello, my name is Melody Salgado, I am president of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Mexico, Welcome to the 26th Conference of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemist in virtual mode, we could not enjoy paradisiacal places and the wonders of Cancun, but I hopefully next year we can make it in London.

We appreciate the support provided by the IFSCC praesidium. We thank the councill, organizing committee, scientists, academics and staff of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Mexico, for all the hours invested to make this evento a reality.

We really appreciate your presence in these difficult times, where the last year has been full of challenges and learnings. In 2020, which was marked by the pandemic, the cosmetic industry could not escape the negative economic impact, which experienced a decrease of close to 10% compared to 2019. In this edition we have the presence of 40 countries.

The Mexican industry still ranks third in terms of cosmetics production in the world, only surpassed by the United States and Brazil “Mexico not only has the opportunity to grow but also to be one of the most important countries in direct sales. Wellness and cosmetics are the best-selling product categories and those with the highest growth ”, holding this edition of the conferences in Mexico is of great importance for the cosmetic industry in our country, where we expect growth as a society and increase the scientific activity, currently the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Mexico together with the National Autonomous University of Mexico imparts the Diploma in "Cosmetic Products Technology” The councill, staff, scientists, and academics are working on new projects, that soon will be share.
